Turning is the final album in the Trails & Traces, Sierra Madre cycle. It finds Furr looking forward through the grieving of the past 10 years into a future that slowly opens as the album progresses. Starting with Blamorhea, we begin in Memory, and ending with Turning, we arrive at a sense of readiness and closure along with Furr.

Recorded at Cloudland Studios in Fort Worth Texas with Britt Robisheux engineering, Jacob and drummer Clint Kirby recorded all 8 tracks in a one day marathon in an attempt to keep the songs feeling as fresh as new cut flowers.
